About me

Hi, Hallo, Merhaba, I’m Asli —born in Istanbul, raised in Germany, and now living and working in Amsterdam. Currently, I’m Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy. I don’t like writing bios—especially those written in the third person—so I’m going to use the word “I” a lot and try to keep this short.

Previously, I worked as a Creative Director at Ogilvy Germany, handling brands such as German Rail and Disney, and helping to turn German Rail into one of the country’s most creative brands through campaigns like “Escape,” “Behind the Cam,” and others.

Before that, I served as Creative Director at HeimatTBWA. I won my first Cannes Lion as an intern at Ogilvy Frankfurt and started my career as an art director shortly after. That didn’t last long because my boss decided I should become a copywriter instead. Why? I still have no idea. But I went with it, and here we are.

Along the way, I became a member of the Art Directors Club Germany and have won over 130 international awards across major award shows, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Clio Awards, LIA, Eurobest, ADC (Germany, Annual, ADC*E), New York Festivals, among others. I’ve also served as a judge for D&AD, The One Show/Young Ones Awards, ADC Germany, Berlin Commercial, and the Gerety Awards Germany.

And yet, my parents still don’t understand what I do for a living.
